The viewer’s eye goes on a journey across crevices and furrows in an unpredictable but engaging, linear trajectory.
Tiny dwellings can be spotted in the top right-hand corner.
They are miniscule in comparison to the vast, rugged surrounding terrain. The range of intense, contemporary blues and greens are striking!
Delivery charges will added at checkout, and are calculated according to shipping address. Large prints (A0, A1, A2) are shipped rolled in strong-walled postal tubes. Small prints (A3, A4) are shipped strong cardboard flat envelopes. Originals are carefully boxed & packaged. A tracking number is emailed to the customer at time of posting. Visiting the Aran Islands and experiencing their almost spiritual atmosphere has had such an impact on me.
The navy deep, powerful Atlantic water and unusual textured limestone expanse is a joy to attempt to capture on canvas.
I found that the only way to do this, is to truly let instinct take over.
Scraping and digging spontaneously with palette knives, fingers and brush – and letting the energy of the islands take over, allows for a special depiction of land colliding with ocean.
