Wire-Haired Fox Terrier
Fine Art Dog Print
This fox terrier is the type of dog that won’t sit still for long.
He’s a playful and boisterous character who’s fun to have around.
His energy is expressed through the use of ‘scribbly’ and vigorous mark-making and the impasto style application of oil paint suggests a wiry, curly coat.
His terrier ears are perched happily on top of his head and they seem to have a life of their own.

Wire-Haired Fox Terrier
I’ve put emphasis on the dog’s rich copper patches that are evident around his quick- witted and intelligent eyes.
They contrast with the zingy lime green and aubergine tones of other areas of his coat.
All it took were some fast ‘flicks’ of burnt umber mixed with Prussian blue to capture his quirky eye detail.
It’s no wonder that fox terriers are known for their cheerfulness and loyalty as suggested in these very eyes.
